Nestled in Vertical Arts’ Urban Street on the Mountain neighborhood in Steamboat Springs, two couples purchased a newly built row home for both rental opportunities and personal enjoyment. Wanting a minimalist and neutral vibe, Stel House + Home partnered with the homeowners to furnish the home with simple, durable pieces for a clean, uncluttered look.

Lush performance fabrics create a cozy vibe in the living room with perfect views of the slopes.
In the living room the clean, mid-century driven style is exemplified by mixed metals, natural wood elements, neutral tones with splashes of blue and layered Western elements that speak to the local heritage of Steamboat. The Four Hands tweed sofa, low profile boucle swivel chair and blue velvet chair are grounded by a Global Western rug and circular wooden coffee table. The metal television console features leather tabs and the steel and wood bar cart is framed by custom artwork of a buffalo.

Modern textures and tones in the kitchen and dining room create a sleek feel to the space.
The color palette expands in the kitchen using dark blue and gray hues from the tile backsplash and center island. The warm tones in the gold pendant lighting complement the camel leather saddle counter stools. Through the kitchen into the dining room, you’ll notice mixed textures naturally drawing your eye. Here you’ll find a patterned Jaipur hair-on-hide chevron rug in neutral, blue velvet dining chairs and woven legs of the dining table. In another nod to Western styles, a framed image of an adorned horse sits at the head of the table.

Muted blues and greens give this bedroom a mountain modern feel.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms and two bunk rooms each with a different feel. In one, the cool blue hues continue on crisp textured bedding and green end table lamps draw inspiration from the framed mountain artwork above the headboard. The lighter wood tones in the end tables and dresser match the new ceiling fan and tease the gold tones found in the framed photo of Aspen leaves in the attached bathroom. The dark wooden bed frame seamlessly blends with the dark gray sliding bathroom door and tile floors. The sleek and modern room is full of texture and light, creating a restful respite.

A masculine yet cozy vibe awaits in an additional bedroom.
The additional bedroom pulls the outdoors in with a framed moose photo and Aspen tree lamp. A woven, stitched detail throughout the Pine Cone Hill coverlet pulls in gray tones from the tweed headboard, artwork and doors. Loloi pillows bring in soft brown neutral tones to the space.
Both bunk rooms feature steel and wood bed frames and fun, mid century modern framed art work of ski imagery. The steel frame of the bun bed pulls the industrial feel of the stairwell into the bedrooms, while big soft boucle bean bag chairs and Jaipur aztec patterned pillows add texture and coziness.

Splashes of color in the framed artwork and throw pillow liven up the industrial bunk room.
Outside you’ll find picturesque views of Steamboat Ski Resort and straightforward outdoor furniture that continue to incorporate mid century modern style and woven textures.
